For target validation or disease-specific studies, Illumina’s product can develop and deliver partially or fully customized arrays in as little as three weeks from approval of probe sequences, at a cost that facilitates a new scale of multi-sample expression studies across focused sets of target genes.

Each array in each Sentrix Array of Arrays platform can interrogate up to 1,400 human, mouse, or rat genes or up to 700 genes from other species, using 1,400 probe sequences. Custom Focused Arrays can be deployed on either the 16-sample BeadChip or the 96-sample Array Matrix format.
